From LeBron James and Lindsey Vonn to Gritty, check out 2019's best Halloween costumes in the world of sports

  • People across the sports world gave their A-game for Halloween this year.
  • From LeBron James as "LeDward Scissorhands" to DeAndre Hopkins as Genie from "Aladdin," athletes were fully invested in dressing up to celebrate the spooky holiday. 
  • A number of mascots even got in on the action, with Gritty dressing up as Wonder Woman and Lindsey Vaughn teaming up with the New Jersey Devil to get some payback.

The world of sports went all-out for Halloween this year.

A number of superstar athletes fully embraced the spooky holiday by dressing up as everything from characters in TV shows and movies to famous celebrities and more.

Some mascots got in on the action as well, with Gritty dressing up as Wonder Woman and Lindsey Vaughn teaming up with the New Jersey Devil to get some payback.

LeBron James leaned into his inner demon to become "LeDward Scissorhands," a unique twist to the main character of the 1990 film "Edward Scissorhands."

Some other Lakers got in on the action, too. Center Dwight Howard dressed up as Thanos while point guard Quinn Cook rocked the Spider-Man 'fit.

The Delle Donnes dressed up as Woody and the crew from "Toy Story."

But nothing was creepier than JaVale McGee as Beetlejuice.

 



But with his family, the Lakers center dressed up as the Green Giant.

 



ESPN host Katie Nolan got creative as a "Jared Goth," the darker alter-ego of Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff.

 



And Washington Wizards star John Wall posted a video of his creepy transformation into the Joker from "Batman."

His teammate, Bradley Beal, had the same idea. He dressed up as the Joker while his girlfriend, Kamiah Adams, went as Harley Quinn.

Though his last name is spelled "Buehler," Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Walker Buehler dressed as his similarly-named movie companion, Ferris, from "Ferris Bueller's Day Off."
