Google's annual Zeitgeist lists are back, showing the top searches for 2011 across numerous categories.
And the most searched athlete in the United States in 2011 was Manny Pacquaio. We were surprised too, but most of his search traffic most likely comes from the Pacquaio-Mayweather fight saga.
The rest of the list is filled with the most controversial and polarizing athletes from the year, and a few more surprises.
#10 Peyton Manning
One of the best quarterbacks in the NFL couldn't even play this season.
Kept out by a neck injury, Manning hasn't taken a snap all year, and won't play in the last few games of the season.
And the Colts have been hurting. Bad. The first time they won a game this year was yesterday.
#9 Derrick Rose
Derrick Rose was the NBA's MVP in 2011, and in the 2011 playoffs he averaged 27 points a game.
#8 Aaron Rodgers
Aaron Rodgers took his Green Bay Packers to a Super Bowl victory in 2011.
The Packers went undefeated this year until yesterday when Kyle Orton and the Chiefs took them down.
